Me and my boyfriend are planning on moving out of our parents house and into an apartment together. We are planning on getting an apartment at the end of April into May, we will be together for a little over a year by then, we have an idea of where and which apartments we want to look at. I’m wondering when should we start actually contacting the landlord about apartment rental and getting information.

No more then 4 weeks before your target move in date. You do realize you will need your parents to cosign the lease and guarantee the rent

In an apartment complex that has an air intake vent in each apartment and vents to blow the air out of the ducts into each apartment… is the air blown out into my apartment coming only from the air intake in my apartment?.. meaning. is the air that blows into my apartment from heating and a/c coming from air intake vents all over the building?… or just from the intake(s) in my apartment?

If each apartment has a separate furnace/ac, then they should not share intake vents. Regardless your apartment manager would be the best person to answer this question.

Don’t say that a flat is British and an apartment us American. I’ve been looking at apartments online, and I’ve noticed that a few of the complexes offer both flats and apartments, but the flats seem to be cheaper. Why is that? I never even knew there was a difference.

Then I guess there like studio apartments/ flats or efficiency apartments there smaller and more self contain one large room for your living space, bedroom and your kitchen no walls to separated them and your bathroom
